Starting with a fresh slate and a critical eye, Native Instinct and Cyworld worked together to leverage Cyworld’s engaging, viral community while replacing existing design and user interface elements that relied on the learned behavior of Cyworld’s Korean audience.
Using a “one-team” approach, our product managers, user experience designers, content strategists, and PHP developers worked side-by-side with Cyworld employees in the U.S. and Korea to rapidly create a new product. We built a product roadmap, set product priorities, ran daily “scrum” meetings, recruited additional team members, and made sure that everyone had the tools required to succeed. The result was a more instinctive user experience for the new American users. Key features included: a personal home page, photo-, video-, and music-sharing, blogging, user avatars, online clubs, and other social networking features.
