Capabilities
Native Instinct is a full-service interactive agency that can deliver your interactive solution from start to finish. Our capabilities include:
Native Instinct approaches projects with the mindset of a product manager. We help our clients figure out the business strategy behind their interactive product. Then we use that strategy to drive the business, technical, and creative decisions we make during design, development, and ongoing enhancements to the product. We help our clients perform competitive analyses, advertising revenue strategies, business models, and business plans. We use metrics to analyze past performance and to measure improvements.
The goals of User Experience (UX) Design are to increase the effectiveness, ease of use, predictability, and forgiveness of your product—with the ultimate goal of improving user satisfaction. The leaders of Native Instinct's User Experience team have been thought leaders in the UX Design world since before the beginning of the World Wide Web. We follow a collaborative, user-centric design process that focuses delivering an optimized experience to targeted users.
Seeing is believing. That's why online interactive product demos are such a popular way for businesses offering complex products to explain their products to users. Native Instinct has built a custom, patent-pending, presentation engine (code name "Ohlone") that we use to drive our interactive product demos. Our demos use video, audio, dynamic graphics, and product screenshots to explain products to potential customers and drive lead conversions. Best of all, our demos are always designed for flexibility and extensibility so that our clients can update screenshots, add customer logos, and change voice-over languages—without having to create a new demo, recompile the application, or reshoot a video.
We've helped start-ups create new brands and established companies move their brand online. Our branding process involves working with our clients to determine their audience, key messages, and promise to their customers. We then use this information to guide all decisions we make regarding interactive products—the experience, the graphic design, the relationship that the company builds through its interactive touch points. We do logo designs too; but don't confuse that with branding, it's just one small element of the way companies connect with customers.
Great graphic design does more than look good. Design informs and engages viewers without getting in the way. Good graphic design is not a color scheme, a decoration, or a logo treatment; it's a holistic process that invisibly blends users' motivations and clients' objectives with great ideas. The result is a prescription that solves the right problem for the right customers at the right time.
Flash is one of the key tools we work with in most of our projects. We have years of experience designing in Flash and have developed complex ActionScript 3 and Flex applications for many of our clients.
Animation, video, 3-D, you name it. Our team has created animated television series, worked on major motion pictures, and created video-based interactive corporate presentations.
We believe that content drives form. Our Content Strategy team works with our clients to perfect the message, and to organize content and craft the right words for the user.
The mobile user experience is significantly different from a computer or TV-based experience. To be effective, mobile applications must be designed specifically for the medium—not just the usual UI squished into a small screen. We design and develop mobile applications cross-platform, for multiple smart phone manufacturers.
For the past six years, Web development has been the primary execution for all our creative ideas and experiences. We choose the right technology to fit the needs of our clients and their users. So our engineering team always uses the best tools for each solution. The result is we have a broad range of experience in the alphabet soup of Web development technologies—HTML, CSS, PHP, .NET, AJAX, LAMP, MySQL—you name it, we've worked with it. And if we haven't, since we've been around awhile, we know where to find the right person who has.
Our team members have worked on e-commerce sites big and small. Chances are, if you're an online shopper, you've bought something from a Web site we've worked on.
Open Source Content Management Tools such as Drupal and Wordpress have gone mainstream. We use these tools to enable our clients to update and manage content on their site themselves.
According to IBM research "every $1 invested in usability returns between $10 and $100." Design. Build. Test. Improve. There is no substitute for seeing how your products perform in the real world and no faster, more cost-effective way to do that than through rapid prototyping and user testing.
